INSTRUCTIONS and INSTALLATION

The ANSYS license administered by ECS is done so through a network licensing scheme.  The following is a list of license files, ports and/or hosts for ANSYS.  During the installation you will be prompted for a license server location. 

Server Location:  130.207.84.30

Port:  1055

When installing ANSYS, you can select as many of the options as you like, except the license option.  DO NOT UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCE INSTALL THE LICENSE SERVER OPTION.

Please contact your Computer Support Representative (CSR) if you are having problems installing the software.  Also, please review the documentation accompanying the software or visit the official site at www.ansys.com.

Before running ANSYS v12:

1) You need to configure the product to use the Academic Licenses (unless your group purchased a Research License). To do this launch Start->All Programs->ANSYS 12.0->Ansys Client Licensing->User License Preferences and verify that the User's License preferences are set to "Use Academic Licenses"

2) To start Ansys Mechanical, please use the ANSYS Mechanical APDL Product Launcher and change the License to "ANSYS Academic Teaching Advanced".

3) To use Fluent v12 you need to set a system environment variable called FLUENTLM_LICENSE_FILE set to 7241@fluentalic.ecs.gatech.edu
