COMSOL MultiPhysics v3.5a

INSTRUCTIONS and INSTALLATION

The COMSOL licenses administered by ECS are done so through a network licensing scheme.

These files will need to be combined into one after they have een downloaded. To do this, open up the Windows command prompt and type in the following:

copy /b comsol35a_disk-a.iso + comsol35a_disk-b.iso + comsol35a-disk-c.iso comsol35a_winnt.iso

NOTE - If your web browser appended a .htm or .txt to the end of the file names, please edit the above command to include the file extension.

The following is a list of license files, ports and/or hosts for COMSOL.  During the installation you will be prompted for a license server location and port number.

IMPORTANT NOTE: You need to select one of the following license server based on the intended use of COMSOL:

For Research Purpose, server Location:  comsol-r-lic.ecs.gatech.edu

Port:  1716

For Academic Purpose (Class Kit), server Location:  comsollic.ecs.gatech.edu

Port:  1716

When installing COMSOL, you can select as many of the options as you like, except the license manager.  DO NOT UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCE INSTALL THE LICENSE MANAGER OPTION.

Comsol 3.5a updates are now available on the ECS Downloads page!  Please visit www.comsol.com/support/updates/comsol33a/ for installation instructions.

Contact your Computer Support Representative (CSR) if you are having problems with the installation.  Also, please review the documentation accompanying the software or visit the official site at www.comsol.com.
